# Home Assistant 2025.7.0 with Ezviz battery work mode

[Home Assistant](https://www.linkedin.com/company/home-assistant/) July 2025.07 release is out…this time with a contribute also from me to introduce controlling battery mode on security cams from [EZVIZ Inc.](https://www.linkedin.com/company/ezviz-inc/) 🔋📹

With this change it becomes possible to set programmatically the battery operation based on needs and scenarios, super power save when disarmed and switch it to normal mode when away for monitoring, this will make a single charge last way longer than before and require less recharge cycle and affect positively overall devices longevity 🚀

Special thanks to [Pierre-Jean Buffard](https://www.linkedin.com/in/pierre-jean-buffard-24080a198/) for putting in the effort on the first iteration 2 years ago, as they say:

> “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” 👏🏻

One of the best aspects of open source projects is that if you see something that you need which is missing…you can just do it yourself and contribute back ⚙️
